Pros
Cons
Summary
A good training app for beginners. The exercise demo and explanation videos are excellent and the Strength and Strength Balance graphs, which is scored 0-600 and based on progress in arms, legs, back shoulders and chest are great tools to keep an eye on your improvement.
The AI wizard for creating your first strength workout and nutrition plan is however very basic and doesn’t allow for adaptations.
I liked the Strength graph, daily lessons and huge library of exercise videos.
I didn’t like the hassle when I looked to book a coach from within the app. I had to click 44 different buttons before I got to a screen to book a coaching call at which time I still had no idea of the price! This could be reduced to 2 clicks of a button and a price layout before you begin the process.
If you’re a beginner and still finding your feet with exercise movements, Caliber offers a great option.
Available on: Apple App Store and Google Play

Juggernaut AI – “love this app. It’s helped me get back into lifting when I felt like I had no motivation or love anymore. It’s nice having a variety of alternative exercises to choose from and the mood and readiness part of the apps as well as the weight increase/decrease depending on performance of your current set.” – Cem Ersoy

Choosing the Right AI Strength Training App for You
Alright, so you’re sold on the idea of an AI workout app. But how do you choose the right one? Here are some tips I’ve learned the hard way:
- Consider your goals: Are you after pure strength, muscle gain, or a bit of both? Some apps specialise in certain areas.
- Think about your workout environment: Home gym, mordern gym or tradition spit and sawdust gym? Make sure the app suits your setup.
- Budget matters: Don’t break the bank. Remember, consistency is more important than having all the bells and whistles. Only pay for apps you can get the most from.
- Try before you buy: Most of these apps offer free trials. Give them a go and see which one feels right.
- Check the AI capabilities: Look for apps with advanced form correction and personalised programming.
I once chose an app based solely on its fancy interface. Big mistake! It looked great but didn’t have the AI training features to back it up. Always focus on substance over style.
It sounds simple, but the best app is the one you’ll actually use.
The Future of AI in Strength Training
Keeping my ear firmly to the AI Fitness ground, I can tell you that what’s potentially being developed sounds unbelievable.
Emerging technologies are set to revolutionise how we smash through weights:
- Virtual Reality (VR) Integration: Imagine squatting in a virtual Olympia, with AI-powered avatars cheering you on.
- Advanced Biometric Tracking: We’re talking apps that can measure your muscle fibre activation in real-time. No more guessing if you’re hitting your deep muscle fibres!
- AI-Powered Nutrition: Future apps will likely analyse your sweat composition to recommend precise post-workout nutrition.
- Predictive Injury Prevention: AI will will warn you of potential injuries before they happen. I wish I had this years ago – could’ve saved my shoulder!
As for predictions, here’s what my crystal ball (and industry insights) tell me:
- AI will become more emotionally intelligent, adapting not just to your physical state but your mental one too.
- We’ll see more integration with smart home devices. Your app might tell your fridge to prep a protein shake as you finish your last set!
- Personalisation will reach new heights, with AI creating truly unique workout plans based on your DNA, lifestyle, and even your sleep patterns.
It’s an exciting time for fitness! The blend of AI and strength training is creating opportunities we would never even thought of a few years ago.
